A while back you may have heard that if you downloaded the Hurt Locker over a P2P network or Torrent client you have a high likely hood of receiving a letter in the mail to pay up or show up in court.

It turns out that over $24,500 sharers have been dismissed from the lawsuit. This all started when the producers of the Hurt Locker decided sue over 14,000 file sharers, this year the figure increased to over 24,000 file sharers making it the record for most lawsuits ever sent out for P2P/Torrent file pirating.

According to TorrentFreak voltage say they have been unable to serve some of the other named defendants above, and have not yet received identifying information for 2,278 IP addresses, mainly due to ISPs stalling due to “motions purportedly filed by the Doe Defendants.”
